What is the difference between Marketing and sales?
Both sales and marketing have the same motive i.e high revenue & high profit of organization and awareness of brand or product among the whole market. Result of both activities may be the same but the process is different from each other.
In sales, a seller has to go to the consumer and try to convince or manipulate him about your brand and product. Sometimes if a person doesn’t show interest in your product then you have to force him/her to buy your product ( with offers, positive reviews, etc) and from this, buyers may get irritated from seller & brand. This will reduces brand goodwill and create a negative impression of the brand. Sales is a time-consuming activity.
And, in marketing you have to just do ads and promotion on TVs, Social media, Banners, etc. so whenever a needy person gonna see your ads or promotions than he/she automatically becomes your customer. You don’t have to force him/her to purchase your product. you just have to manipulate him/her with your ads. But the condition is, your ad or promotion should be very creative that it directly hit the emotion of a person. Marketing is a less time-consuming activity.
Marketing and sales both are equally important for your brand and product. Some people don’t get the effect from creative ads so then you should have to force him/her to buy your product. Marketing is the earlier step of selling. If we discuss in one line the major difference between sales and marketing is. In sales, you have to go to the consumer and in marketing consumer comes to you.
